[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The summer running season is upon us. This year Team Denver Parent will be participating in five races, we would love it if you were to join us at as many of them as you can. If you can’t join us hopefully you find a race near you to participate in.

Our first run of the season will be the Bolder Boulder on Memorial Day. This 10K (6.2 miles) is a pleasant run through the streets of Boulder and features plenty of entertainment along the way. Bolder Boulder has a wave that will fit any need from ultra competitive to walking. This is how I start my running season every year and the organizers of this race never disappoint. My son will be joining me for the sixth time this year.

Next up will be the Rugged Maniac. I started running obstacle courses a couple of years ago and fell in love with them! This will be my first try at the Rugged Maniac and I can’t wait. This is a 5K course with 25 obstacles and benefits the American Cancer Society. Come play in the mud with us.

Jump ahead to September.

Fort Collins is hosting the second annual Fortitude 10K on Labor Day. We ran the inaugural event last year and it was great. The folks that run Bolder Boulder have helped get this event off to a great start. This is an easier course than Boulder but very similar set up. You will join a wave that suits your abilities and then enjoy the course on the streets of Ft. Collins.

September 8 will be the Terrain Run. I ran this for the first time last year with my two boys and we had a blast! A 5K course with multiple obstacles makes for a fun morning. They have an option to purchase multiple laps if you want the extra challenge. This run is very kid friendly allowing 7-13 year old participants to run with a parent on the full course and 2-10 year old participants run the Mini Monkey course. Good family fun!

September 15 will close out our season at the Warrior Dash. Another 5K obstacle course. Warrior Dash is a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and we at Team Denver Parent have a fundraising page set up and want you to join our team. This is the easiest of the obstacle courses I have run, everyone can do this course.

If you can’t join Team Denver Parent at one of the races we are doing here are some other options for you, this calendar lists every run in Colorado this year.

Choose your distance, choose your race, choose to get off and running.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
