Hey Dads, We See You!

To the dads who take their children to school every day so mom can sleep a little more or get herself ready, we see you.

To the dads who play with their children at the park and engage with them, we see you.

To the dads taking their daughters or sons on father/daughter/son dates, we see you.

To the dads preparing dinner, we see you.

To the dads cleaning up the house, we see you.

To the dads reading their children a book, and tucking them into bed, we see you.

We see you Dads, and we love you.

Being a mom is hard work. I don’t know how single parents do it. I truly don’t. And although I had a wonderful Mother’s day, I kept thinking in my head that none of this would be possible (quite literally) if it weren’t for my amazing husband. I don’t always give him the recognition he deserves. I don’t tell him thank you enough; I don’t tell him what an amazing dad he is. I don’t tell him thank you for letting me sleep in while he wakes up with the kids. I just don’t do enough for him.

Dads, you are the backbone of your family. I don’t know how you do it. The pressure you feel to provide for your family, to help your wife each and every day and to be her comfort, and to be a loving father. We still see you.

On this Father’s day, I hope you men know that you truly are our superman. You can do it all. Without you, we mothers would be even more of an emotional disaster. We wouldn’t have our best friend.

So dads, we see you. We see all that you do.
