If you are searching for a great family vacation, look no further than the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs!
Our family’s adventure began in the perfect example of a mountain hotel suite, complete with cozy fireplace for us to snuggle up in front of. With the kitchen and dining room, a suite like this would be perfect spot for a family reunion or larger group of friends traveling together. We hope to come back in the summer!
Not only is the resort nestled against Cheyenne Mountain, the Country Club of Colorado golf course wraps around it. And if you aren’t in the mood for golf, as a guest of the resort you can use the amazing fitness, tennis and aquatics center. Did I mention their fantastically soothing spa, Alluvia? It was so heavenly that I fell asleep during my service. I highly recommend pampering yourself with a visit!
What makes Cheyenne Mountain the perfect family resort, in my humble opinion, is the unique activities…my favorite is its 35 acre lake where you can build sand castles, rent a kayak or stand up paddle board. In a state where there aren’t a lot of water activities, how cool is that?
But don’t be fooled! Our family had a fantastic visit during a December blizzard. Not only did we enjoy the fitness center, our kids had a great time swimming indoors in between our adventures exploring Colorado Springs. (My favorite was feeding the giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!)
If you are a foodie, or simply enjoy great food in a beautiful setting, you will not be disappointed! We were thrilled with the menu at Elevations Lounge. Though not big, everything on it was perfect – make sure you try the tater tot appetizer! The resort even has it’s own beer brewed specifically for their guests. Make sure you ask to sample it! Brunch in the Mountain View Restaurant is a perfect way to end your visit. Soak up the sunshine and take a mental picture of the beautiful setting home with you.
Cheyenne Mountain is the quintessential mountain resort filled with huge timber beams and spectacular views, beautiful rooms, amazing amenities and great food!
And relaxing on the terrace with a glass of wine is the perfect ending to spending a great day with your family!
