Summer kicks off with the opening of Elitch Gardens! As I write this in May (only two weeks from Memorial Day) I’m looking out in the yard at the snow that fell this morning and I’m reminded that last week I attended the opening of Elitch Gardens for the summer!
Yes folks it’s open and the good news is it’s supposed to be 86 degrees by Sunday! This week the park will be open Thurs & Fri 9-4, Sat & Sun 10-8.
Our family are traditional Amusement park folks, loving the Carousel and the slightly exciting (but maybe not heart stopping) rides, but if you have older kids or a daredevil in your family, you’re going to be excited about their new ride.
This year Elitches is proud to unveil their new ride the “Brain Drain” – they commemorated the unveiling by having the Mayor of Denver cut a big fancy cake and inviting a few media folks around to climb aboard the ride and scream (no, I didn’t go).
One of the fun new events at the water park is their “Dive-In Movie”. Sounds fun for all ages (and levels of bravery) and the schedule so far is as follows:
