Remember the days when you got to lick the spoon?

Just the other day, we were making cupcakes to bring to an Easter celebration, and my 2 year old daughter dropped one “kersplat” on the floor.  Part of me wanted to say, “ok, everyone out of the kitchen, mommy will finish the baking,” but I am so glad I didn’t.  Instead, I tiptoed around it until I had a spare second to clean it up, and we kept on adding ingredients.  Sugar Loco was founded by two women who are serious about dessert, Jenny Ford & Tracy Corcoran, but we are more than that, we are also moms.  Loco Kids on Sugar Loco, is about inspiring you to spend more time in the kitchen with your children baking or doing an edible craft.  This not only promotes family bonding, but is also a great learning experience when you allow them to count, measure, and identify ingredients.

Of course, if kids are involved, you know it has to be fun!  For Earth Day, we told you to make your kids eat WORMS & DIRT!

Another Loco Kids feature that got rave reviews from kids & parents was the Pink Kiss Cookies!  Kids love them because they are PINK, and parents love them because they are tasty!
Hopefully, with the help of Loco Kids, you can enjoy some moments sharing family stories and teaching your little ones the same baking tricks your mom taught you.  I do have to remind myself that letting the kids have fun, and do it themselves is all part of the experience.  Afterall, no use crying over split milk…or a dropped egg.  Loco Kids features a new idea every Friday {just in time for weekend fun} so come and join us for some sweets!  Also, as moms we know how busy life gets, so follow Sugar Loco on Facebook for an easy way to see our latest features!
